Coastal Contours Ceramics is a small-batch pottery business founded by Nicky Kelly, a passionate ceramic artist based in Cape Town. THE PROCESS
At Coastal Contours, we create small-batch, wheel-thrown ceramics. Each piece is handcrafted with care and inspired by the beauty of the coast. Each piece begins on the wheel, where the clay is shaped into functional art, much like the natural forms found along the shoreline. Afterward, we trim and refine every detail. The firing and glazing process then enhances each piece’s natural beauty. As each piece is made by one potter it ensures every item is unique and personal.
